Born Jessica Hannah Glynne on 20 October 1989 in Hampstead, London, she began writing songs while studying music in East London before being discovered by industry professionals. She signed with Atlantic Records in 2013 and quickly gained attention for her distinctive voice and relatable songwriting.

In 2018 she made chart history by becoming the first British female solo artist to achieve multiple UK number-one singles, cementing her place in modern UK pop.
